The GPS tracking system has changed hunting big game with dogs forever.....it's almost a necessity now, makes keeping up with your dogs a joy instead of a chore. However, you would be wise to do as most of us do and run both GPS and a radio tracking system on your dogs. You can pick up used radio tracking collars off ebay at a good price....check with Valley Creek Supply on there. You can also get a programmable scanner to use a tracking receiver for a good price. Get you a Garmin 220 to start with, there should be some in the classifieds on here, along with some used DC40 collars and you're on the way.....takes some money to get into it, but then you're set for a good while.
