Paid 1500+ shipping on the best dog I've owned. Would gladly pay 3 times that much to have another just like her.
Some may disagree, but if your enjoyment comes from hog hunting, its cheaper to buy a good dog than it is to raise one.
Now, if you like seeing a young dog turn on, and enjoy the training aspect, then it makes sense to raise them.
I think its funny that people will spend 12-15k on a hunting buggy, a couple g's on tracking and cut gear, then complain about the price of a good dog.

just yesterday tried to trade one heck of a dog for another dog & throw in some extra $ the dog is from the same line of dogs I hunt, I don't no that he is any better of a dog, but he will cross back better & allow me to keep things tighter.......
In the rodeo world people will spend $200 in entry fees 2-3 nights a week drive a$45,000 truck pull a $60,000 trailer and unload a $700 horse.... & wonder why they can't winn, go figure!!!! Lol
