Which part do you disagree with Mike? That they don't have superspeed? Or they can't SPRINT for long?
Super speed may be relative, but not being able to maintain a dead sprint for long periods of time isn't an opinion, the cheetah is the fastest land mammal on earth, built to sprint and they can't maintain top speed for more than a minute or two tops. Fortunately for the cheetah, neither can a gazelle.
Ground Conditions and terrain of course play a key role in a dog vs hog race, but when the field is leveled as in the case of open pasture or plowed grain land, a well built and well conditioned dog is gonna be able to catch up to most hogs. This is not the norm of course, but trent asked about SEEING dogs stop hogs and my statement was more or less directed to that.
Now in the woods, heck, you saw mine get their butts handed to them by running hogs once or twice

That's why I'm scared of the dark now, I believe what cantexduck was saying about hogs having the upperhand after a hog breaks to be true, so I like the dogs to be able to use their eyes as well as nose and legs now. That's all I'm getting at.
