the trouble with the rivers in texas is that unlike other states most if not all of it on either side is leased or privately owned . i know up around dallas and down through kaufman it is any way . i talked to the trinity river authority on this subject a few years ago and that is what they told me . it's kinda like the guadalupe  you can float down it all day long , but you better not get out of your canoe .
