Keep it clean, and get him on some antibiotics as SOON as you possibly can. You can go to a local feed store and purchase 'Fish Mox'....
One of my friends told me about fish mox. I'll grab some in the morning.
I flushed the wound with peroxide before I went to bed, and again this morning. The swelling went completly down.

That's a good idea. It'll save you alot of heartache in the future. Also, It's a good idea whenever they get a cut of any kind while out in the field, to run some antibiotics through 'em right away when you get 'em home. Doing so can help stop an infection from setting in right away.
