Pecos......why do you use bay dogs if u just wanna catch hogs?

Nothing wrong with shooting hogs over dogs in my book. You still have to have good dogs to find em and bay em! Its all about a good find/bay dog for me anyway and guns, knives, and catch dogs are just the means to finish the hunt. I use all three. It just depends on the circumstance Im hunting in.
A savvy hog hunter with good dogs and a handy rifle is definitely the most effective way to eradicate a large number of hogs were its required and allowed in my opinion though.

Ive hunted for ranchers and farmers in the past that have demanded we shoot the hogs or we couldn't hunt. More recently Ive hunted for land owners that wouldn't allow firearms to be used so out comes the catch dogs.

What ever the circumstances may be a catch dog, a knife, or a rifle just ain't to effective without those good find/bay dogs are they?
