I mixed according to the instructions on the bottle for yard application.

You are correct about the Bayer not lasting as long as Advantage. Advantage has a carrying product added to it which helps it maintain coverage for a month. I just reapply as needed when fighting infestation. The garden product is such a low concentration that I don't see it hurting anything.
