a few years back I said on here if I were to hunt yellow dogs it would be ladner...I am a believer that if a dog can trail and tree a squirrel then he should find a hog...and if he will trail a coon for a while then I know he will stick to a track...and if he will get in there and kill a big boar coon then I know he has the grit to catch a hog with a little help...sometimes you will lose a few hogs because this type of dog will bust a bay in the wrong conditions but that is hog hunting...there is a man further up north that bought some ladners some years back and has been consistently winning all the big hunts...by the sounds of it he took the ladner bmc breeding and to a higher level of performance...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
A hunting dog is born not made...
