I don't know you personally, but I can say from your history on the forum, that you seem like a pretty decent guy- and I wouldn't judge you to be someone who tries to milk the system, AT ALL. I guess on internet websites, it's very easy to read things in a different light than was intended- shoot, my fiance says I do it to him all the time.

With that being said, I am so very sorry for the unfortunate situation that you are in right now. I agree with an earlier post, in that everything will be okay. Seems to me that life is full of patterns where we have smooth sailings for a while, and we hit areas that have some major hitches in the giddy up, and sometimes it seems that the most deserving people experience the toughest times. I am happy that you and your family are all healthy and doing well! Please keep us posted in how things turn out with your job, and what all we can do to help out!
