Taking on the U.S. military didn't turn out well the last time. Today, there is such a huge disparity between the skills and armaments of the military vs. the citizens it would not be much of a contest.
What offends you about Congress is in fact legal. The change has to come from public pressure which is not likely to amount to much.
I never said it was a good option but an option none the less. I am well aware of the "skills and armaments" of the U.S. military being a veteran myself and having run sigint support for numerous special operations. You are correct in the fact that the changes brought about have been through legal means and methods but as I stated before it is easy to twist the law to aid personal agenda. I don't believe the choices being made are in the best interest of the people or the country but rather in the best interest of corrupt individuals. The people need to come together and beat them at their own game. If this can be accomplished peacefully then that would be an amazing feat by the people and for the people but it may take a more radical event to open the eyes of the people and unite a country.
