Myself I would take him to the vet to see what it would take or if they could fix him. If they can't do anything then its quality of life. Does he seem happy or does he seem to hurt? If he seems fine make him as comfy as I could. If not put him down before the pain is constant. If he's that old my guess is he is a part of ur family. Just remember sometimes putting them down is better than suffering thru life.
