  we allways considered a coon hound or beagle to be in the prime of their life around 4 and 5 . and should be able to show you all they got around that age . and like said before they only get a little wiser after that age . they know where to look for game and how to drift a track or anticipate the game a little better , instead of waisteing time looking where even i knew game wouldn't be  .
