I have a german short haired pointer female I had a plot breed her and she's about to have them both dogs are excellent hog dogs but im hoping the pups will end up silent like the gsp and make the hounds nose a little hotter what I mean is I dn't want them to pick up a 3 day old track like some plots and also the energy of the gsp will speed up the hound side any advice on how they may turn out will half bark on track like plot and half be silent like bird dog will they hunt more like gsp or hound

Everyone has different opinions on open/silent. In my personal opinion and experience over the years regarding hound crosses I have noticed that most.....not all but MOST when raised with and hunted with silent dogs tend to stay on the quieter end of the spectrum while crosses that have been raised and run with open dogs tend to be open..........this is just my opinion but I have seen it a decent amount through the years. That ought to be a good cross in my opinion, I have hunted with 4 different GSP'S and all 4 have been busy busy busy nose to the ground covering alot of ground. Good luck with your cross
