I had a dog several years back with that same problem. My dog got a virus from a tick i cannot think of the virus but wasn't Lyme disease but something else. Ask your local vet and he should know, but no matter what you feed him he will not gain weight. The vet will hook you up with the antibiotic that you will need and the dog will snap right back to his or her normal weight. I will go through my paper work and let you know what that tick gave him and the name of the medicine I used.
