I don't know anything about Blue Lacy's but agree 100% about people breeding for color or a certain look. I want a dog to do a good job whether its a hog dog, cow dog, bird dog, etc. I don't care if its purple with green spots if it will outperform anything else I have.
Look at a lot of the AKC dogs that "used" to be working dogs until they started being bred to fit a standard for the show ring. They lost the ability to do what they were originally bred for.
Lets hope our cur dogs, Lacy's, etc don't ever go that route.......
