As bad as the fact may be the lady was on parole. Useing a gun coulda landed her back in jail. While u may think that is a good thing with out a doubt it was not where she wanted to go. She used the means available to her that didn't result in jail time that would do the job to save those pigs from those evil dogs. When u add the fact that one of the dogs was a bull dog the fear level jumps up. The majority of people are scared to death of a bull dog as u know. When she got to swinging and as the dogs were knocked of the hogs I'm sure she kept swinging till they stopped moving. This would be logical in a fear situation to me because until they stop moving they remain a threat to a scared person.
I would to be mad as the devil but u must look at both sides. There may have been a gun but to a paroled felon that didn't want to go back to jail it may as well have not been there. Also who is to say she even knew how to use it. It is possible she may have been scared she would hit a pig. While these dogs were ur pets to her they were strays or something similar.
The point was made that she had no right beings she was just the housekeeper. I don't agree here. If ur neighbor had prize horses or prize cows and u knew they were show animals his kids loved and u saw some dogs had done killed one or more and after some more. In this case u happen to be fearfull of dogs and no gun on hand and only a 2x4 or piece of pipe. Would u do anything or just drive on.
I'm not saying she was right. I am just playing devils advocate here giving possible scenarios. Ur dogs were important to u and I hate u have to bury one and pay for the others rehab but it happend and unless u see both sides u will never get over it.
