the other post on close calls and bad hogs got me to thinking. how many dogs have you had one single hog cut during one hunt. did u ever get the hog caught? and were the dogs vested?

5 on one hog but it was my fault, they bayed in some thick stuff and it was a walking bay and sounded bad so I turned 2 more loose to em from about 200yds.....took me about 10 minutes to get close to turn the cd loose, I think that they got caught because they couldn't get out of each others way, I don't run vests on anything but my cd but everything wear cut collars. I did catch and kill the hog, about 175lbs boar with 1 1/2-2" cuttters....nothing special just a rough hog in a rough spot......he didn't do any major damage on 4 of the 5 but he cut the achilles tendon out of my buddies best gyp that I borrowed for the hunt..... (or what ever is the dog equivelant of a human achilles tendon) I felt like chit about it but he wasn't mad, lucky to have a buddy like david......he's the same guy that I posted the 2 stories about in the close calls thread, that was a couple years ago and that of gyp still can't use her back leg very well but is still a hog finding/baying bitch!

sorry meant to say 5 dogs, 4 were fine just got some skin cuts
