I see well only place I put a trap is on personal property or a neighbors place that has asked to trap for them so don't guess I personally would feel the need mark it nor would I waste time to mark it on my own property. That seems like more of a law that would be enforced on public land, you know like fishing in the river or lake with lines or jugs. Anyways I agree you should check a trap often though I've had some die that were in the trap less than 12 hrs when it's hot enough.
