A hog dog life span is day today you might get one to retire but the fact is the good one get killed .............
I'm not 100% sure I understand you but I have to disagree with what I highlighted.........apparently my version of good and your version of good ain't the same............. I have a male thats 9yrs old that still produces hogs pretty consistently, multiple guys on this site can vouch for him and in my eyes he is a GOOD dog......wish I had 4 more exactly like him just younger............
