Do the hogs have large diameter cutters that are broke or are the short and pencil like. I could be wrong but I have always used the diameter of the cutters and the wear on the molars to determine age. Domestic boars get big teeth just like feral hogs. Some areas with large populations of hogs and dense boar hog populations produce smaller (broken) teeth because they break them fighting.
