It's the testosterone that makes it gamey. I have shot big boars that were just cruising with a head shot when they had no idea I was around and they had no bed taste. So like posted above the only way I know of is kill them when they are calm. Tie and leave for a while then sneak in and 22 just above the eyes or behind the ear.
