This is a very interesting question.
We have always heard that putting a loose baying dog with a rough dog will make the loose baying dog rough too. We had a very loose baying dog who ran with a rough dog and he did eventually get a little rough. And when I say eventually, I mean over the course of several years.
We have some of his offspring who are loose baying when alone or when with other loose baying dogs and are rough when paired with rough dogs.
But Ive never considered the catchdog having an effect on the bay dogs. I would also like to hear some opinions on this subject.
