I recently bought a tracking system to use as a back up when my garmin stops working randomly... I have never owned one of these systems and need a problem solved. The problem is when i am close to the collar (50') the unit beeps while i am facing 180 deg from the collar and when i face the collar the beeping stops and the led lights act right like the signal is getting stronger as i point the unit towards the collar.  While i am facing 180 deg from the collar the led lights do not pulse but it beeps. Is there something that i am missing here? It is like the antenna is reading backwards or something but the light bar shows it is reading right. If any of that makes any sense. I tried this system at 4.5 miles and it worked fine. I have turned the gain way down while messing with it at close range. Any help besides for me to buy a quick track? Smiley

Fellas at the top it shows he owns a garmin but got this for a backup. Read the post in its entirety.
