Well i called my old as dirt uncle that used a telemetry system since they came out up until a few years ago while coon huntin. He said it sounds like you have a good strong system you just need to skip a channel.
Anyhow i went down one channel and messed with the gain a little and i can walk right up to the collar with no 180 problems. The unit kinda squeaks instead of beeps but it works right up close. Once i get a hundred yards from the collar i can switch it back to the proper channel and get a good beep. I dont know if all the wildlifes operate like this one it is like the gain wont turn far enough down when you are close to the collars. Anyhow i guess i have figured out how to use this one...
