2 idea neither may work but worth a shot. Put them on the ground bout sunset and let them hunt into the night with dogs that will hunt at night. Second would be get some glow sticks and fasten to collars. A glow stick would be kinda like giving it its own flashlight. It is possible the old dog has trouble seeing at night and a glow stick could help. I figure the pup is queing off the old dog.
