In theory, you should look at the style and traits of your bitch, and choose the male that combined with her, would make your 'ideal' style of dog that suits your way of hunting.

Whenever I plan on breeding a bitch at some point, I always know what male I plan to put to her pretty far in advance. If I have to think that hard, I likely wouldn't be breeding her.

Of course nothing is guaranteed, but you can go by what you DO know about each dog.

Is your bitch lacking in any department? Choose a male that posesses strength in the area you feel she is lacking.

If she's not lacking in any way, choose a male whose style would compliment hers in theory. Until you have pups on the ground to raise up and try out, it's all speculation.

Or you could just go with what alot of folks do, and breed your 'best' to your 'best.'
