You can catch a lot of big hogs if you track hunt with them both and use them right. If you got a cold nosed hound or any kind of dog that's not very fast, use them to trail and find the hog and if he runs let him run for a little while then send the faster, gritty dogs to him. But don't send them a half a mile behind the hog. Make sure you turn them loose either ahead of or right on top of the slower dog. As far as the hounds speed versus a cur dog, If your cur dogs are getting outrun by a hound they are very slow in my opinion. I've hunted with A LOT of hounds of all breeds and an average speed cur dog that can run a track with his head up will be faster than most fast hounds..
