what i like to consider a successful breeding, is when the whole litter is "average" or better. by average, i mean consistant, solid type dogs that will go out and do their job when asked without many complaints. they may have a hole in them here or there, and they may not be superstars, but they are honest and get the job done. at the end of the day, if the least pup in the litter can do that, i consider it a successful breeding. of course, that doesn't mean i'm NOT trying to raise litters with a high percentage of above average pups.
