it's much more likely to get infected than not. I went to er and they gave me massive antibiotics and I still got a infection in it after stitches were out. I was the same as you. i never worried about it. I just figured I'd get cut maybe and get a few stitches. It's much different when it happens though. It makes you realize the initial wound is the least of your worry's. hogs can carry rabbies and alot of other disease.I wont leg a hog anymore unless it anchored solid. I did alot of research when i got cut and found getting cut is much more dangerous than I even imagined.Doctor told me the best thing to do initially is scub wound with antibacterial soap and a brush and let a stiff stream of water flush out the wound for a long period of time.It hurts but could make a big difference.
