I make it a point to have at least a couple of weeks or 10 days acclimation time on a started dog . just some time for the dogs to get used to the new owner and likewise the new owner to get used to the dogs actions and personality's . some dogs will hunt for anybody anywhere from the get go and some won't . just makes dang good sense . if the dogs actually hunted good for you they should hunt for the new owner after they get used to each other for a few days . and then some will only perform for the man that raised them from pups , curs are funny that way .
