this can get real long but I will try to keep it short...

in 2007 after I retired from the big company I thought I would travel quite a bit and couldn't leave a bunch of dogs alone and I didn't want to be tied down...that was a small part of it...
but around those times I never talked about how I bred dogs and never talked about all the cow and horse meds I used on dogs... all that was top secret and a few dogs went to a few friends and the left overs went way down south...I usually kept all pups and culled down to 3 or 4 pups...
I had lost a very good dog to cancer and another was put down because of a severe jaw break...the only female I had left I bred and all males were born...was hoping to get a few females but did not...the bitch was gritty and as good as one can be but too much drive and grit...she bayed and stopped 4 hogs and was on the fifth when I had to take a dog to the truck because he had caught one of the boars and needed to be put up...when I got back she was dead from heat exhaustion and that left me without a female and I didn't care to breed outside...I gave away an older male and I sold the three pups I had that were really coming on strong...one was as good as the best I have had...sold all three for 500 dollars package deal and gave away all my kennels and my wife cried...said I was making a mistake and I sure as hell did...took me years to find the right dogs and once I did it was pretty easy...in 2010 I decided to get back in but will never spend the money I did then...since then I culled 2 mt cur gyps, 2 pitbulls, 2 more mt curs, another mt cur, and I finally have two 1/2 parker 1/2 kemmer pups that are coming on at an acceptable pace...I have a 1/2 redbone 1/2 bull dog that is pretty good...another buddy of mine that has almost the exact same bloodline as my old dogs gave me 2 young dogs...they are bred to look and hunt different than my old line but they look like his dogs but these 2 hunt more like my old line of dogs because they came out like their grandfather who came off my yard...the male pup has one nut and his bark is a little weak and he has a little longer hair than I like...other than that he is a gritty hard hunting fool...

I have high hopes for the breeding potential of his sister...she is small as well with a weak bark but I like what is in her...sometimes you have to look at the family and not at the dog...
the other buddy of mine has 2 dogs that are very good hog dogs and have lots of my old dogs blood but they seem to be sterile...bred to one and no pups... ???thinking about getting him checked out because that would get me close to what I had...these 2 dogs have the size and the hunt and grit...and no quit...
2 more females out there that have 1/2 the blood but they are not for sale...but I did get one pup 2 days ago so he is 1/4 my old line...not very good as far as trying to recuperate my old blood but will take what I can get...the man was kind enough to call me and give the pup to me...the other 3/4 is from his best bmc dogs so I am good with it...I picked a pup that looked and acted like certain dogs I had...hoping that he got more of that dogs genes...the 1/4 mt cur in him is from a top super inbred dog I owned at one time...
I picked parker and kemmer because I have heard lots of really good comments on the parkers and I do know what the kemmers are capable of...but I like OMCBA better just not the right ones close by...
OH, I also was buying an old OMCBA female that was 11 years old of the best bloodlines around and was having her bred to a 3 time world champion mt cur and she did not take...luckily the man didn't charge me for the female since she didn't take...
the last litter I raised one died of heat exhaustion, one from a hog, one from possibly heat exhaustion or hog, one was stolen and the other sold on here...I was looking for this dog on here and this is how I found this site...
but like I said...I want to breed a few good to great dogs but to use them as my first priority and not to create a line of dogs but to move slowly in that direction...got to keep the cost down and I really don't hunt like I used to anyways...getting older and slowing down some...hunting spots are harder to find and having to travel to them really sucks...
as you can see it has been a long up hill climb trying to get some good dogs going...the dogs I have now I am happy with but not excited about...they are not the kind of dogs that I can say will breed and produce consistency at this time...
what I do like is talking about breeding dogs and helping the up and comers on breeding better dogs and having less culls per litter...
if I had a lot of money and some nice hunting spots I would go find the best dogs for hunting hog and the best catch dogs and would breed a line of strike dogs and a line of catch dogs...all the trial and errors are behind me and I could move forward in a hurry...cause breeding better dogs is my real passion...
