Wondering if anyone has any pointers they use for bird dogs? Or any dogs really. I have never had a bird dog but have always wanted one. I have an opportunity to get a full blooded English Pointer from a co worker, but would only want her if I could make her a bird dog. Just curious on their training and how they respond to it. How often they need worked with, and if they learn fast. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
what type bird hunting are you primarily doing?
I'm sure that just about every breed of pointer/setter/retriever will work as an all around bird dog, your individual breeds will all have their positives and negatives regarding what exactly you are planning to hunt with them.
