Sounds like mastitis. .. infection in the milk duct. I had a gyp develop mastitis and all the pups died. My vet told me to take the pups off her and bottle feed but they still died.. good luck with it

I agree, I had a gyp get it in one of her farthest back bags, got swollen, a bit off colored and hard, I got lucky and the pups all made it. The vet gave me some kind of antibiotic for it but it has been a couple years since this happened and I can't remember what it was. He also told me to take a rag and run hot hot hot water on it and then to use the rag to massage the infected teat 3 times a day......did this for about a week and a 1/2 and coupled with the meds she cleared up but that bag never completely sucked back up tight to her body like the rest, it dried out and wasn't a cause of concern but hung an inch or so lower than the rest.
