Its all about the dogs. I like raising my own dogs, starting them and seeing how good they can get. I hunt 1 or 2 dogs out at a time so I can tell what a dog is capable of.
Also I like when my buddies dog comes back and mine is bayed somewhere by itself.....LOL
I would just as soon catch the hog and release it (cut if its a boar) but some of the places we hunt require us to kill the hogs.
I think the hogs get a bad rap. They have been here in Fla for over 400 years and cause far less damage to the environment than people do.
I managed ranches for 13 years, had 500 cow/calf pairs and never had a problem with hogs bothering livestock. Yes they rooted the pastures some, but they have been doing that for hundreds of years and haven't permanently hurt anything. Rain, cows walking over the rooting, etc will eventually flatten it back out. Its no fun to drive over with a  tractor at times, but hey, they were here first!!
