I used to have access to SS pipe and would cut a 6" length of 8" diameter pipe and weld a 1/8" thick bottom on it. Use it for all my water bowls. Had a couple dogs over the years that liked to dump em and play with them so I welded about a 3" pipe nipple on the bottom and drove a stake in the ground and slipped the nipple down over that. Never had one get it off that. Those bowls are lifetime.
