the preventive I use on my young pups is called SULMET as the name suggest it is a sulfa based drug that it best used periodicaly in the drinking water it is inexpensive and will save you a lot of trouble down the road . other than sulmet I used a product called CORID can be given orally or added to water same as sulmet . these products are redily available at any GOOD farm and ranch store . it is to cheap to do a preventive not to do it on a regular basis . I like the sulmet better as it is a milder solution on young puppies I start them on it as soon as they start drinking water and they gyp gets it as well in the process .
