I will go and see some people I know in the scrap business. The people I asked already did not have anything. Just hoping maybe someone has a broken legged table in the barn or something. I will have to get fittings and stuff. The big thing is the stainless drums. I just don't know where to look for used ones. I heard they use them for dairy and soft dring industry. I asked some people at Coca Cola but they had not seen any. They kind of stand out so I hoped somebody on here had seen some walking through somewhere. I think some oil field equipemnt gets shipped in them too. I don't mind paying scrap price I just don't want anything so nice I have to pay much more than scrap because I am sure I will mess some up on my first few tries at welding it.
I really do not need drums I just need to have clean water in stainless tanks and figured they would be a cheaper solution. Not sure what the price of sheets are but I may make a call tomorrow to find out. TIG welds are water tight.
Anybody made a skid? I am guessing two skids of I beam or pipe and then some cross braces. That way when I am ready to go into business I can winch it onto a trailer and then pull it off in a warehouse. Then just hook it up to power and water and I am rolling.
It will be for a food product so I would like to use as much stainless as possible.
