Price will be higher, same as when you want a Garner dog and you go straight to Mr. Garner's yard. If I wanted a FB dog, I'd go straight to the source. If I wanted a Mr. Gary dog, I'd go straight to him. The prices will be higher in most cases when you go straight to the source, but it all depends on how bad you want said dog, what your expectations of said dog are, etc. However, if you find a dog bred how you're looking for from somewhere else, and you're comfortable with the source in all aspects, then by all means, go for it.
