   naw mrs la. that is the way it has been since my first registered dog back in the 70's . all that does is tell a person ukc has had the pedigree info for that many gens. now they are talking about opening up the single regs, on the bulldogs and the offspring from those dogs will not be pr. bred . I think what you are thinking on is the title   DNAP  which means the dna of the dog is recorded and stored with the ukc for further verification of offspring out of a set of parents if there is a question about breeding .
