Good advice from all. I have used Alum (pickling spice at grocery store) made into a paste with mineral oil. You just pack it into the wound once or twice daily. Mineral oil makes it stick and the alum draws infection out and pulls it back together. I use it when an animal won't leave staples/stitches in. Plus, it don't taste so hot and they will leave it alone.

Im gonna check that out, cant say im familiar with it. Thanks
