I've been running dogs for about seven years now even when I was coon huntin I was iffy in who had the gun or who shot now I have seven dogs that I run and it took me 3 years to tweak and change and get to where I catch hogs pretty regular and I'm not real keen on the idea of some one with a gun around them not to mention if my main dog even sees a rifle u may as well no even turn her loose because she going to stay by my feet because she is terrified of guns and people who haven't hunted with dogs before are like "oh I'm bringing a gun" no your not because if u get scared about something running up on you and you shoot of my dogs for rarely check in . I don't carry a gun my buddy carrys a pistol and if u didn't know he had it u wouldn't he call it his emergency stop button invade some thing bad goes wrong which is understandable if a dog get cut to bad for help put it out of its misery or a big hog and it goes south kill it before it does further damage but I usually don't allow guns unless I trust the person with it just my opinion
