  well it boils down to the problem of having that one special dog ruin you to other capable dogs . I know when I retire or lose mine he will be hard to replace . because all others will have to live up to an almost impossible standard .  that's what happens when you lose the good ones , and to keep on hunting you may have to just settle with a good but not great replacement .
