If I'm on a property where I know there is even a remote chance of the dogs crossing a fence, I contact the neighboring land owners PRIOR to hunting to let them know what I'm doing and what time I'll be hunting/finishing. Makes things much easier when they do cross a fence and the land owners appreciate the heads up. Showing a neighboring land owner that you are a responsible hunter will get you access to more land. My question is, why wouldn't you take the time to cover all your bases, be prepared and do everything legally? If you don't take the time and make an effort to do these sorts of things you risk hurting the reputation of our sport.
