I use a 320 with dc40. I lost 2 of mine one day at 1.25 mi. Got out the extendable and picked them up at 2.2 mi. Was hunting with a guy that lost his dogs at .7 hooked up the extendable and picked them up at a lil over a mile. I believe it is worth the money. I can't say exactly what the range increase is but I have yet not been able to pick mine up enough to get closer. My dogs aren't go yonder dogs but when they get on one they go. So when they are out that far I know I need to head for them. This has given me that range that I can with reasonable reliability locate my dogs at over 1.5 miles in pine plantations.
