Steve Matthes out of Ca. started this strain. Authored a book called Brave( very good reading.
  Dick Muldoon out of new Mexico had his strain for a while & like mentioned, passed on. There was another guy in Ca. who had his strain but I cannot remember his name.
  I doubt if their are any pure Matthes hounds left.
