I have been using whatever rasps I have. But I know I have done some with the Bellota rasps. I have been taking them to 1450 for the quench which is what I believe is critical temp for carbon steel. I have made some from 1080, 1084 and 1095 in the past. Thanks for the encouragment and info. I got the scales and finger guards put on today. Just gotta clean em up and sharpen and makes some sheaths. Having friends that are shoers helps with the supply of rasps!

Will post pics once finished with them?
