one thing about cow dog stock...they might not have the inclination to take a track,use their nose or to even hunt...but they sure can have baying style...so make sure to do your homework well and find a line that has both traits...I have seen good tree dogs converted to hog dogs and they have gone on to be great hog dogs in a short time...IMO a dog that gets excited about a squirrel or coon in a tree will go nuts over a hog...

East Texas curs are usually not registered for good reason...because they are mixtures of cur, hound, mt cur and other mixes that has worked...
