No offense but if you've had ears retrieved to you from a catchdog, you've cut him loose from way to far away. Everybody has their own way of doing things but where I'm from you cut a bulldog loose and have him hold only for as long as he has to, meaning you get there as fast and as quickly as you can for two reasons, 1) to help out your main man, the catchdog, you don't want him getting thrashed and wore out while you are taking your time getting there, and 2)there's a market for hogs where I'm from and you don't want them tore up when you get there to tie them.
Like I said everybody has their own way of huntin/thinkin and that's mine.
