Had some hog hunting buddies go to an island on the mississippi river to catch the hogs off . They turned their find dogs out & they bayed in a willow thicket. They led their 2 bulldogs in.The willows were about 6feet high& so thick you had to chop/crawl to the bay. They got up close enough to see that they had a huge black "hog" bayed so they sent both catch dogs in.The bulldogs hit and there was a hell of a fight. They went in to catch the ,but the hog turned out to be a big black bear!!Every time the catch dogs got a hold, the bear would rake the dogs off with his front paws .My buddies were taking all this in from about 10 feet away in a thicket with not much of a way out.I think there was quite a discussion on how to catch the bulldogs. The bear finally broke and made a hole out the other side. They finally caught the bull dogs coming back after awhile. This is a true story that happened in 2013.
