my brother got bit by a brown recluse and he said it was not painful...just a warm sensation that swelled up like mt Everest...then turned black and the tissue died...the doc dug out the dead tissue and he had the prettiest and shiniest silver dollar sized scar tissue right on his rear right cheek...

I have heard that the black widow has a very painful causing venomous bite...

my cousins husband used to be a high paid manager for Target...he went around building new targets around the country...he got bit on the leg by a brown recluse and it killed off his lymph node system and he had to get on disability for the rest of his life because of that bite...
